Platform Capabilities

Platform Capabilities

One device with configurable channels. Enable temperature, humidity, and optional moisture monitoring to match your deployment without committing to a fixed variant.

01

Multi-Point Sensing

Up to four temperature points plus humidity and optional moisture. Six configurable channels support the monitoring profile required for cold chain, concrete, or environmental applications.

02

Industrial Interfaces

1-Wire and I²C for industry-standard sensors; analog for moisture and battery monitoring. Reliable, proven interfaces for harsh environments and long cable runs.

03

Cellular and Network KPIs

LTE-M and NB-IoT with direct-to-cloud connectivity. Every reading can include modem signal quality (RSRP/RSRQ) and cell info, so you see both sensor data and link health.

04

Configurable Per Channel

Enable only the channels you use. Optional moisture depends on hardware, with runtime toggles per channel. One platform supports many configurations without separate product SKUs.

Measurands

Tank level, flow, temperature and environmental measurands

OTS connects the physical signals condition and process monitoring pages target: level, flow, temperature, humidity and runtime context over cellular links.

Tank and level monitoring

Remote tank level and fill monitoring for utilities, chemicals and mobile assets using cellular sensors without on-site Wi-Fi.

Temperature and cold-chain

Multi-point temperature trails for refrigeration, cold-chain and remote temperature monitoring with audit-friendly payloads.

Flow and process context

4-20 mA and digital interfaces for pressure, flow and process variables that feed open gateways and your CMMS.

Open SDK

Programmable wireless sensor architecture with an open SDK

OTS provides an open-source Cat-M sensor architecture with root-level control over device code. Teams can implement custom payload optimization protocols in C/C++ using standard open-source toolchains.

01

Root-level firmware access

Maintain full control of device logic end to end. The firmware is open and extensible, with no opaque proprietary behavior and no lock-in on the code path.

02

Standard open toolchains

Build with the C and C++ toolchains your team already uses. No proprietary IDE or licensed compiler is required, only reproducible open-source builds.

03

Custom payload protocols

Define your own payload structure (JSON or binary), sampling cadence, and uplink triggers to optimize bytes-on-air for your tariff and battery budget.

Power profile

Ultra-low-power telemetry and battery lifecycle

Power efficiency is critical in field deployments. Deep sleep modes and cellular power-saving features extend a single battery across years of autonomous operation.

< 5 µA

Deep sleep current

5 to 10 yr

Field battery life

eDRX + PSM

Cellular power saving

eDRX and PSM

Extended Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) and Power Saving Mode (PSM) keep the modem asleep between uplinks while staying reachable on your schedule.

Deep sleep benchmarks

Sub-5 µA deep-sleep current draw means the energy budget is dominated by your reporting interval, not idle overhead.

Li-SOCl2 battery integration

Lithium-thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) cells deliver 5 to 10 years of field life in low-duty configurations, and they are field-replaceable.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

— 01Is OTS available as a white-label sensor?

Yes. OTS is designed for white-label projects. You can ship it under your own brand (housing, labeling, packaging) and integrate it into your product offering while we provide the underlying hardware platform and engineering support.

— 02Do customers get the source code?

With the Professional License, yes. We share the firmware source code and SDK so your team can own the device logic, payload formats, and integration behavior. This enables long-term maintainability, faster iteration, and customer-owned IP.

— 03What cloud and protocols are supported out of the box?

OTS supports MQTT out of the box and includes ready-to-use connectivity patterns for AWS (e.g., AWS IoT). It can also publish via HTTP(S) depending on the selected firmware profile. We provide reference payload formats and integration examples to accelerate deployment.

— 04Do I need a gateway?

No. OTS connects directly to the cloud over LTE-M or NB-IoT. There is no on-site gateway required. Data is sent directly from the device to your backend or to the Melqart device management portal.

— 05Does OTS support eSIM or nano-SIM?

Yes. OTS supports cellular provisioning with eSIM and/or a nano-SIM, depending on the hardware configuration. We can deliver units pre-provisioned, or align provisioning with your preferred connectivity provider and country coverage.

— 06What sensors are supported by default, and what can be added?

Out of the box, OTS supports temperature (including multi-point), humidity, and optional moisture depending on the hardware variant. Through the available interfaces (1-Wire, I²C, and analog), additional sensors such as vibration, air quality, or custom probes can be integrated as part of a tailored configuration.

— 07How long does the battery last in real deployments?

Battery life depends on reporting interval, enabled channels, signal conditions, and operating temperature. With long intervals and optimized power profiles, deployments can reach multi-year operation, up to 10 years in low-duty configurations.

— 08Can we customize payloads, sampling rates, and triggers?

Yes. You can customize payload structure (JSON or binary), sampling and transmit intervals, thresholds, alerts, and channel enablement. With the Professional License, your team can implement domain logic directly in firmware while keeping full ownership of the resulting IP.

— 09How does device identity and security work?

Each device supports secure provisioning and encrypted communication. For AWS deployments, standard certificate-based authentication patterns are supported. We can align the device identity model with your security requirements and your chosen backend architecture.

— 10What do we receive when starting a white-label project?

You receive a reference firmware baseline, SDK and source access (Professional License), integration examples (MQTT/AWS), and an engineering enablement package covering provisioning, payload formats, and recommended power profiles, so you can move from pilot to scale with minimal friction.
